There is an assault on our creativity, on our expansive minds, and it comes in the form of this blind rush to the energy vampire of artificial cerebral replacement. It is humanity amplified by the pursuit of that addictive pot of gold, their myopic eye on a punctured sphere cannibalising their own distinction of being. A surge of complicit bots programmed to scrape the main frame in an atrophied drive of corruption – culture scrambled into a nexus of irrelevance. Creative expression is not a manifest perfection solved by algorithmic summary, posited into some tedious notion of exact fit consumption, but a flawed dialogue stumbling through the wreckage of our perpetual impression. Come with us into an ill-fitting cultural detritus reconstituted into ever shifting forms of fun and freedom.

MEDIA PUZZLE is a 5-piece punk band from Lismore, Northern NSW, delivering a blistering mix of scuzzy, down-the-barrel synth-punk, thrashing through 90-second songs without a second wasted. In under two years, the band has released three albums and two EPs. Their vinyl debut was picked up as a Rough Trade exclusive, and their latest release earned a 7.6 review in Pitchfork, praised for its “uncanny creativity that egg-punk weirdos love to tout.” Their music has since been featured across Rage, Triple R, 4ZZZ, NTS, and beyond.

KIRKLANDD is a punk rapper from Canberra, Australia blending hip hop, nu-metal and rock into a hybrid sound he calls ‘punk hip hop’. TROPICAL LOW the Magnetic Island trio are quickly gathering force, much like the cyclones that form in North Queensland’s tropical waters. DEM MOB are the most remote hip hop group in the world—born deep in the red dirt of the APY Lands of South Australia—and the first to rap in Pitjantjatjara. More than a music act, DEM MOB are a movement: fusing hip hop with cultural identity, education reform, and political resistance. Their work challenges the systems that marginalise First Nations youth and reimagines education as a tool of empowerment, not assimilation. Their activism has directly influenced education policy, reshaped pathways for young people in remote Australia, and sparked a international conversation about what real equity looks like, with speaking at conferences on using hip hop as an education vehicle in 3 different continents.
